Pride Month events continue across the MMORPG landscape with another pair of celebrations happening in both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape; fans know that both games have marked the month before, but this time there’s some new goodies to gather.
We’ll begin in OSRS, which is focused on helping an NPC who wants to become a white knight come to terms with his true calling and what makes him special. Clearing this special quest awards players with a new cape that can be changed into any kind of Pride flag they want along with a Pride crown t-shirt cosmetic, and previous Pride goodies can also be bought from certain NPCs.
As for RuneScape, this year’s Pride event tasks players with bringing characters together for a parade, while new goodies include the Legally Distinct Shark Plush two-handed weapon skin (if you know, you know), Pride-themed overhead emotes, a flower crown, and a new title. There are also several player-run Pride events highlighted in the MMORPG’s latest newsletter, so it’s worth a moment to look through.
In addition to all of the in-game celebrations, Jagex is also helping charity via t-shirt sales, with revenue raised from purchases (minus specific fees and fulfillment costs) going to benefit AKT, an org that provides help and support to LGBTQIA+ youth facing homelessness or hostile living conditions across the UK.
On top of Pride events, both games have new updates this week, with OSRS continuing Project Rebalance tuning and RuneScape introducing a new Ultra+ graphical feature and visual facelifts for scorpion monsters.
