Multiplayer gacha RPG Wuthering Waves outlines plans to improve gameplay, reduce grind, and fix issues

A couple of weeks ago we reported on the launch of Wuthering Waves, a gacha-filled co-op RPG from developer Kuro Games for PC and mobile players that promises a sci-fantasy anime open world of danger to explore. Now that the game’s dust has had time to settle, the studio is taking stock and talking up what’s next.

The post opens with profuse apologies for an echo recycling bug, poor translation of a weapon, grindy gameplay, and inadequate event rewards, followed by multiple promises to correct each of these features in turn and provide different types of compensation for players. There was a particular focus on those grind complaints, with multiple adjustments to echo development costs and their related development material rewards, along with a new waveplates storage system and the removal of the cutscene reward for entering Tacet Field planned for update 1.1.

The post also talks about recent updates and fixes made to improve gameplay on PC and mobile, such as camera fixes for PC, adjustments to aggro leashes for certain bosses, and a wider “ghost control” area on mobile devices. Future improvements planned for these parts of the game include a disengagement proximity warning for bosses, more keybinding features for keyboards and gamepads, and controller support for mobile.

Last but not least, the post talks about items added in a patch this week, which introduced the new character Yinlin, boosted drop rates for character and weapon gacha pulls, and launched a limited-time wave survival event that awards multiple materials. It also provides a rough timeline for version 1.1’s release, which is slated for a June 28th launch and will bring a new area, two new characters, and a new boss.
