Where my Neverwinter peeps at? Cryptic’s Dungeons and Dragons MMO has a big announcement for you today: It’s announcing its next season and update, dubbed Mountain of Flame. It heads to PC and console simultaneously on June 16th.

“The upcoming major update for the free-to-play Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG will bring back the Mount Hotenow Adventure Zone – originally introduced when Neverwinter launched in 2013,” Arc Games and Cryptic say. “With the return of this adventure zone, adventurers will discover the zone has been completely revamped and re-populated, making Mount Hotenow bigger and better than ever before. The Mountain of Flame module will also introduce an unvaulted and improved dungeon, the Lair of the Mad Dragon, along with quality of life improvements.”

“In the Mountain of Flame module, the smoking volcano, Mount Hotenow, is rumbling once again and threatening to erupt. The mighty fire giant Gommoth, who lives deep within the mountain, plans to use the growing magma to free the sleeping Primordial within the volcano. Adventurers must band together to do quell the flames and battle against Gommoth and his forces before the powers of the primordial destroy all of the Sword Coast!”

Notably, Lair of the Mad Dragon includes a full rework, three difficulty tiers, and a new set of rewards, and those QOL perks? Those amount to hefty guild-management updates, improvements to “many fan-favorite companions,” and of course, the new battle pass itself.
