When Amazon first announced the Aeternum reboot and console port for New World, it noted that it would be rolling out beta testing all summer. That was drowned out by all the justified anger over the Aeternum situation, admittedly, but the console closed beta test was set for July 11th. That’s tomorrow. And now, it’s been delayed.
“To ensure we deliver the best possible Console Closed Beta experience, it will now run from July 25 at 9 AM PT through July 31 at 9 AM,” the studio wrote on its social media channels, as well as at the top of its closed beta teaser page. “Our team is hard at work to welcome you to Aeternum as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please stay tuned to our social channels for more updates.”
No reason for the delay was given, though Reddit is back to predicting doom.
As we noted a month ago, this leg of the test was aimed strictly at console players to get their feedback on the onboarding experience, endgame content, and crossplay. It was also set to be under NDA.
