It looks much better now.

City of Heroes-inspired superhero indie MMO City of Titans has hit a major milestone this week: It’s created its “first packaged executable that [its devs] can call ‘the game’,” complete with recorded video of that “functional first pass” build, which primarily shows loading screens and the character creation process (plus some mocapping work).

Missing Worlds Media’s Shadow Elusive writes that previous footage has been from the Unreal Editor, but the current version will run on basic ol’ Windows.

“We were hoping to show you the character creator itself, we were hoping to load and save the character design. It works in the editor. But, well, it blew up as we packaged. Around midnight last wednesday we decided that we had found the problems – but it was going to take longer than we had to fix them. So we disabled them – but only for the moment. We’ve supplemented that with video of the standalone character morphing technology – you’ve seen our body and face sliders as standalone pictures. Now you can see some of them in action.”

“We’re not done,” he says. “But we’re getting there.”
