Diablo IV may have eaten up the bulk of the Blizzard presentation during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live, but it’s not even the only Diablo game the company brought to the con, let alone the only game. Indeed, Diablo Immortal also took the opportunity to preview its own next chapter thanks to a new roadmap.
“The saga of the Worldstone continues to evolve, with Diablo, the Lord of Terror, poised to return to Sanctuary and shape the next chapter of this epic story,” Blizzard says. “The Lord of Terror is set to make his fateful return to Sanctuary. Part I of the Worldstone Quest—Crucible of Justice—arrives in September, where you must purify your soul from the corruption that has consumed your body and mind from the act of destroying the Worldstone Shards. In the second part of the quest, you’ll face Diablo, the Lord of Terror. With a Worldstone shard in his claws, Diablo has the power to warp reality and unmake creation itself.”
As the roadmap itself makes clear, players are also getting a new co-op mode, Halloween and winter holidays, both chunks of the Worldstone Quest, and a new zone to boot.
