Co-op D&D-like Wildermyth preps console launch this fall with digital and physical editions

Can I gush for a little bit here? One of my absolute favorite recent indie games is Wildermyth, a title that seeks to replicate the experience of tabletop roleplaying in a slick, easy-to-use format. Coming out a few years ago, Wildermyth offered players the opportunity to go through campaigns that spanned decades of in-game time in which your characters would make life-changing decisions, grow into legends, age, have kids, and even retire or die. It’s really amazing and one of the most fun gaming experiences I’ve had in the 2020s.

While the studio announced a little while back that it was done developing new content for the game, it’s not through with Wildermyth just yet. Initially, the RPG — which offers multiplayer — was PC and Mac-only. However, in October when Wildermyth is getting a special physical edition as it moves onto PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. Additionally, it’ll become available digitally on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch that same day.

“The retail copy invites players to immerse themselves deep into Wildermyth: Console Edition’s magical world with the expansive Monster Compendium, an exclusive book included in the physical edition while supplies last,” the press release said. “The endlessly replayable party-based experience offers dynamic character development and deeply creative combat for an epic journey where players strategically choose decisions to ultimately shape their own destinies.”
