Surprised but pleased by last week’s announcement that Star Wars The Old Republic is getting a native Mac client? We were too. And now, Broadsword is reving up the ol’ test engine for the launcher.

“[W]e’re happy to announce opening up a test session for players who are interested in seeing how SWTOR performs with MacOS on Macs with Apple Silicon,” the studio says. “We will be hosting a closed technical test for eligible players in the coming days.”

Broadsword is looking for testers who are current or former subbers and have M-Series Mac chips on MacOS14 or newer. Older MacOS versions won’t work, nor will Macs from 2020 or earlier that have Intel processors.

The studio does remind players that the technical test will be on the live servers and that yes, technical issues are expected. That’s why you’re testing! Applications are open through October 8th.
