Korean fans of MapleStory have already had their hands on Nexon’s MapleStory Worlds since April, but now it’s time for players in the Americas to have their turn: The game has now officially made its soft launch this week, opening up the ability for players in the Americas to build their own MapleStory experiences and share them with others; it’s being called a “global” soft launch but players in the EU aren’t being included right now.

“Immerse yourself in a new way to play! In MapleStory Worlds, players and creators come together to explore magical experiences. With powerful worldbuilding tools and 30 million MapleStory Assets, creators craft immersive adventures for players around the world and earn from their unique designs.”

The “earning from unique designs” portion of the game is partially hitched to its Creator Circle program, which offers promotional support, direct tech assistance, and a monthly support fund of $3,500 as well as bonus incentives assuming creators hit unexplained “monthly and quarterly milestones.” The program will open applications sometime in mid-November for those who actively want some side hustle with their gaming fun times for some reason.

Nexon is also holding a month-long game jam from November 6th to December 6th, which will give five top winners $2,000 for those who put together the best game worlds and avatar items, all while learning how to develop games and monetize their creations on MSW. Nexon has already put together a creator’s hub that features tutorials for those who want to dig in.
