While MapleStory 2 has become a distant memory for many of us, the MapleStory franchise is still going strong in 2024. In fact, Nexon just launched a new version of the game in Korea that is quite unlike most MMORPGs on the market today.

It’s called MapleStory Worlds — a new version of MapleStory that allows players “to create and share their own game contents with other players, utilizing background music and the vast graphic resources of Nexon’s beloved MapleStory IP, as well as their own creations.” Essentially, it’s a mod kit for players to tinker around with MapleStory assets in order to whip up new content. Call it MapleStory Maker, maybe?

In other MapleStory news, Nexon is priming the community to get excited for the upcoming 19th anniversary with the game’s v250 patch. This event includes Mayple Island events, the ability to roll the character Zero, and a Hieizan dungeon revamp.
