Last week we all got our first peek at Skygard Arena, an upcoming single-player and multiplayer turn-based strategy title from Gemelli Games that lets players control a team of three heroes to take on a campaign mode solo or enter a PvP arena against bots and other players. This week saw the game officially make its early access debut along with a roadmap of update plans.
Described in a press release as “Final Fantasy Tactics meets League of Legends,” Skygard Arena has begun early access with three solo campaign chapters and the primary PvP arena feature that pits player teams against one another. Combat is turn-based, but battle promises some depth of strategy and fast action as abilities and moves can be chained together. Early access will cost $20, but the game is on sale at a 20% discount until December 2nd.
According to the studio’s roadmap, the winter months will focus on adding difficulty levels to the campaign mode, launching a new champion and new arenas to the PvP mode, and introducing a combat log. Later months are bringing a new campaign chapter, more new champions and arenas to PvP, controller support, and a new game mode. The roadmap is a bit loose on hard dates, but curious fans can get a general measure of where the game is headed by clicking the image below.
