Now that the holiday break is complete, Rare Ltd. is ready to get back into the content-making rowboat for Sea of Thieves as it provides a very general outlook for updates coming in January for players of the piratical PvP sandbox.

Friday, January 17th, will introduce a new event activity known as Reaper Gunpowder Runs. During the event, players will get exclusive voyages that are focused on collecting gunpowder barrels of all kinds and bringing them to the Reaper’s Bones faction for extra gold and reputation. The event will run until Monday, January 20th, and since this is associated with the Bones trading company, it will be focused on FFA PvP, meaning it will be specific to the gankbox High Seas mode.

Following that, January 23rd will add the next bit of content for the ongoing Season 14. Information on what players will get to do in this update aren’t shared in the announcement, but Rare directs fans to the patch notes site on the day of its release and makes sure to point out what cosmetics will be available in outpost shops when it arrives.
