New World’s big summer push is happening this week with the release of Season 9 and its much-vaunted Capture the Flag mode. But when you get past this MMO’s interesting aspirations to be a summer camp, you might discover that there’s more to this season — such as new reward tracks and additional artifacts.
Amazon shared the free and premium reward tracks for July 29th’s Season of the Banner, each of which sport 100 levels of goodies to attain before the season is through. Some of the goodies here include transmog tokens, faction tokens, dyes, weapon skins, fireworks, combat boxes, a mount attachment, and a “Newspaper Bonk” emote. We actually use that emote every day in the MOP office for when we misspell a word.
The studio also delivered a deep dive on the three new and three “remastered” artifacts coming with Season 9.
“Season 9 introduces a new rhythm for how we approach artifacts: fewer releases per season, with a tighter focus on impact, creativity, and player utility. By adding a mix of new items that open up fresh builds and reworking underused artifacts, we’re aiming to keep gear diversity high while making sure older favorites don’t fall behind,” Amazon wrote.
