Shroud of the Avatar is planning a 10-hour streaming event it’s calling the Spring Festival of the Avatar Telethon next week. On May 2nd starting at 1 p.m. EDT, the developers will be fundraising live in an attempt to secure upgraded pledges, add-on items, towns, and vouchers from the game’s current and future players.
Last season’s telethon saw Portalarium boss Richard Garriott chop off a fifth of his famous rat tail. This round, the devs are promising to drink, dance, and sing on the stream for every $2500 spent. The studio is also handing out prizes to watchers present in the community’s IRC channel during the stream.
We spoke to SOTA’s Richard Garriott at last weekend’s PAX East, where he told us that the game is definitely launching this year.
