Just a week and a half ago, we told you all about Mekria Online, a brand-new in-development MMORPG focused on both PvE and PvP. The team behind it, Infinity Online, had posted a Kickstarter seeking $110,000. But today, with under $2000 raised, the team has canceled the campaign, telling players they didn’t believe it’d made a compelling case for its Kickstarter and means to postpone it until it can. Here’s the studio’s statement:
“We’ve received a lot of feedback recently from industry experts and from gamers anticipating the release of Mekria Online. What we’ve received has been some good, some bad, but all helpful. We at Infinity Online Studios want to inspire confidence in our idea for Mekria. Through the feedback we’ve received, we have come to the conclusion that we haven’t been able to present a comprehensive presentation that would earn your confidence. Because of this, we have decided to postpone our Kickstarter. This doesn’t mean we are discontinuing development, but rather that we are taking some time to regroup and regather so as to present a clear and concise vision. We want to assure those who are already fans of our ideas that there will be no changes to our core concepts, combat, character creation, etc. We’re simply going to take some time to properly flesh out our ideas in a way that’s a lot more ‘show’ and a little less ‘tell.'”
