You can color us surprised at the response to Cabal II, ESTSoft’s inbound action MMO, but fortunately North American gamers won’t have to wait much longer for the game to arrive as signups for the late April beta test are already underway.
To ease us into the Korean import, ESTSoft has put together a series of Cabal II deep-dive developer diaries that we’ll be breaking here on Massively OP in the next few weeks. The first one dealt with the specifics of combat; today’s, however, covers the game’s Abysmo unique mini-dungeon system, which ought to look familiar to fans of RIFT. Abysmo cores are scattered around the world and allow players to spawn a series of mobs to attack for fortune and glory; the highest-level Abysmos spawn portals to group dungeons with still more Abysmos inside. Abysmoception, if you will.
