Albion tweaks its trees, resources, and landscapes for summer alpha

Albion is gearing up for its summer alpha, and one of the new features on display during the test will be a landscape redesign.

“The layout, vegetation, and overall look of a region will change dramatically depending on what resources can be found in it,” the dev team explains. Areas include grasslands and deadlands, with “large tasty-looking apples” populating the trees in the former while “dry, wrinkled fruits” that you wouldn’t even feed your horse are the order of the day in the deadlands.

The developers plan to make a similar revamp to rock formations and types in the near future, all with the goal of fleshing out Albion’s environments and more clearly representating an area’s unique characteristics.

I’m waiting patiently for the launch.  I like the style, dig the cross platform abilities, and am really looking forward to something I can play here and there with a group of friends on the go.  That all said I’ll wait for launch…  I don’t need to buy into an alpha or beta as I have other things on the go at the moment.

Been following this game for a long time.  Was huge into it during August 2014 but IMO they are taking WAY to damn long on this.  They have had like 3 alpha tests each being 2 months or so long. I mean how many times do they have to do it?  Maybe it’s just so founders feel like they are getting their monies worth?  I dunno, spending to much time on a game is something I never thought I would say but it really is taking them forever without much noticeable change but then again I’m not in the alpha’s.

Looks to be awesome but needs to come out sooner rather than later.

I am not saying that them taking their time is a bad thing. I think they just got the hype train started up wayyyyyyyyyyy too early into their development. I really don’t think that games should even announce they are games until they have a playable alpha, and are almost ready to give an open beta release.

Mister Tuggles SlasherZet They do seem to take their time, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I guess they want the game to be polished enough when they go open beta.

Mister Tuggles SlasherZet I bought one of the Alpha packs, then got my money back after playing it for a few days. I will give it a 2nd chance when it goes into open beta.

There were a few Twitch streamers showing this one off a few months ago.  It looked really fun and the art direction was quite nice as well.
