mysecretid Pepperzine Yeah, but, for the Revan xpac there is a major npc that does exactly that, all the time, and even has to have an interpreter (one of my favorite voice actors of all time!), in addition to the subtitles, and that works. /shrug
IMHO, I think it has more to do with costs and coding/setup complexity.

@ 57:44: Thank you Larry for giving back to the community.  I had not realized that you did that (I’m one of those who resigned up to SWTOR using your link).

There is a workaround of sorts.
Look for the head gear for the Veda Cloth abnd Trimantium Armors (2 sets of 2 in 4 different colors; all craftable).
The headwear is a kind of “head hanky” a la what Axl Rose of Guns `n’ Roses used to wear back in the day (sorry, I don’t know the proper name for this sort of headwear.
The “head hankies” can be worn under a hood, and show just enough to prevent the character from appearing as bald.
Cheers,

Part of it is that aliens who don’t speak Basic have been nixed as player characters, ostensibly because it messes with the storytelling impact when everything has to be subtitled, and all the players ever hear for dialogue is <noise1> <noise2> <noise3> <loop>.

Toured an open-house Yavin stronghold or two on my server last night. Looks to be a very good guild house, but probably not a good living space for your favorite character(s).

It’s very, very large, both inside and out — but it’s mostly sizeable interior-ruin rooms with no doors on them.

NOTE: Speaking of rooms, all you get for the buy-in price is the landing pad and exterior approach, plus the initial large interior room.

Other areas must be unlocked either with either in-game credits (typically 1 million or more per unlock), or with Cartel Coins bought with real money from the in-game store.

My advice? Do like I did and tour the Yavin strongholds players have left open to the public (terminals for this are on Fleet and on Yavin) to see what you’re actually getting, and to see what needs unlocking. That way, you can decide if it’s really right for you.

Cheers,

I wasn’t hearing game sounds until ~ 25:25, where they just started, loudly.  It was the point in the cast where you were talking about a previous software update.

Forgot to mention, at the part of the cast where MJ says Larry is blowing out her
speakers, on my PC, his volume was 60% less than MJ’s.  /shrug

Pepperzine DanielReasor They hide armor pieces on Trandoshan already, not sure why it would be a problem to just not draw armor on avatars.  Wookies wouldn’t be as hard as they are saying it would, armor wise.  Now size/height wise, that may be a different story.
