Sphere 3: Enchanted World is a fantasy MMO that’s now in open beta

Just when I thought I’d been doing this long enough to know about every MMO in existence, along comes Sphere 3: Enchanted World to prove me wrong. The game originates in Russia, and its website describes it as a “brand new MMORPG created for the most hardcore players.” Additional verbiage highlights siege PvP, a non-target combat system, and a “strong classic fantasy storyline” featuring 1000 quests that spans over 600 hours of gameplay.

Classes include everything from the usual Sorcerer and Warrior to the hilariously named Killer, which I’m assuming is a nod to Assassins rather than Richard Bartle. The game is going into open beta right now, and it’s also been greenlit on Steam. You can watch a preview trailer after the cut.

Damonvile Porculasalvania “Non-target combat system” makes me wonder how they have any combat if there are no targets. I know they mean action combat, but the phrase itself is pure marketing gibberish.

Jemmyt ClassicCrime Yup I did that and figured that was the case, just odd that they would say the game was live but be adding people to it like it was cb or something lol

Porculasalvania I think it became like mmo where it doesn’t mean what it used to. Action combat sounds great because it’s action! so just about everyone started to call it “action” combat.

Non-target leaves far less room for terrible interpretation but I’m sure some will try.

MorpayneRADIO  It has the standard MMO issue of hundreds of abilities to work around.  They’ll never get something truly balanced and polished.

“a non-target combat system”

Is “action combat’ now a bad term to use when talking about your game?

Darth Fez What is with this dumb argument.  WildStar was a failure in the making from the start.  It could have been the most casual MMO in existence and still failed.  Games with small budgets and go “hardcore” can carve their niche.
