When your promo trailer is complaining about your combat, boy, that's a rough road.
How do you feel about medieval building sandboxes with titles based around wordplay? If you are intensely excited by them, you’ll be happy to know that Life is Feudal: Your Own is now available and has shed its Early Access designation. The developers are celebrating by offering a 40% discount on the game until November 20th.

A new launch trailer is available just below if you need to see a bit of the game in action before you commit. It’s important to remember that this is the non-MMO version of the game, serving as a testbed for the MMO systems and gameplay model. Still, if you just want to build your own hideaway and punch bears in the face for a bit, your time has arrived.

Well, I gave it a go.
It lacks polish, but that surprises no one.  The core concept seems solid and the execution is getting there, but it’s certainly not ready for prime time.
The video tutorial system is adequate, but it does feel like I need to take How To Play This Game 401 to get into it.  I think the unintuitive UI feeds this problem and it could stand some more work (though I understand it was recently given a once over).  Basically, the current system feels like I am trying to pilot the character remotely, not control an avatar.  It just needs some more TLC.

Sadly, I was able to dig in very deeply.  Even though my rig isn’t the lean, hungry monster it once was, it is damn sure is still up to the task of running a modern video game but this game made it just CHUG.  It was huffing and puffing like the fat kid on Mile Run Day.  I put up with that, but once the graphical glitches started, I had to tap out.  I think that there is a ton of optimization yet to be done since my toon, empty landscape, and some trees pushed my computer to the limit.

Overall, they get a solid A for effort, but I do hope that the money goes to streamlining the game and making for a more accessible experience and not another voice over by Sean Bean.  ;)

Me and 6 old nerd friends of mine have fired up a dedicated server. This is going to be a blast.

schlag sweetleaf  ROFL!  Not that innovative.  But formations play a solid roll in team combat (although they are still a work in progress, tbh!)
