Soak up new Division gameplay footage in leaked trailer

Update: Ubisoft has released the trailer now; it’s included below.

You don’t have to speak Italian to appreciate the new gameplay footage for Tom Clancy’s The Division that made its way onto the internet (though it would help you to know what the narrator is saying). The Italian trailer showing off new areas of an underground metro and a ruined train station as well as a lengthy look at a safe zone was leaked out today then quickly disappeared. But as we all know, nothing truly disappears from the internet, and you can get a look at the flame-throwing, grenade-tossing action in the video below. The shooter is set to release on March 8th.

Update: Ubisoft has released the trailer itself now:

Syco_at_Twitch A Dad Supreme Ecchiboy1 Well that is some good news. Wonder if we will get the game and expansions all bundled together with a nice pretty bow. Or is that too much to hope for.

Fenryr Crackjaw Walah The game has one huge map. There is no instancing into the separate zones.

scratches16 Had it pre-ordered since last year, got the CE right away. I’m hyped for this, and it was dying down with the lack of updates for this game, this video sure helped me get back into the mood for the game.

mmonerd Yeah im very skeptical to Ubisoft these days, but its made by Massive so it should fine. This game is the redemption for Ubisoft for me. I never played Watch Dogs or any of the AC games since Black Flag.

Walah Crackjaw Smiggins Note I didn’t say there weren’t large open world zones.  I said there weren’t large open world zones where you’ll bump into other people or groups that aren’t a part of your group.  That, to me, is the differentiator of ‘MMO’ versus a lobby-shooter or ARPG like Diablo.  Granted there’s games like Skyforge that blend the two so the lines get blurrier all the time.  Pretty soon any online game will be an MMO just because no one can really define what MMO means anymore.

Fenryr Crackjaw Walah It’s buy to play as far as I know.  There’s a ‘season pass’ available so I assume they plan on charging for DLC to keep the money train going.  I haven’t heard about a cash shop or subscription, so same monetization model as Diablo 3 unless someone knows different.

Ecchiboy1 I’m not sure if this is actually a good thing. Ubisoft has a very (very) bad record of simultaneous multi-platform releases. Can’t really remember on a game, which was ported OK to the PC from those guys. Not really that I expect something else from a studio who openly declared pc as dead.

Crackjaw Walah So it’s an “MMO” like Diablo , a Hub based heavily instanced multiplayer(optional) game with a bit more open world. Not that this would be bad by any stretch, just to be clear what to expect. MMO means different things to different people.

What’s the business model? Since it’s coming from Ubi I’m sure it’s going to be at least dubious.

mmonerd Remove the hype and Ubisoft is still better than most publishers.
