Teleport into multiplayer Portal Knights this month

If you’ve been keeping your eyes peeled for more sandboxes and you don’t really care how massive they are, there’s a new one on the horizon that might be worth a peek. Portal Knights, which joins the ranks of Steam Early Access on February 25th, offers many of those elements that sandbox fans crave: crafting, building (and decorating) houses, harvesting, farming, and exploration. Of course, there are dungeons to dive into and bosses to fight using “tactical action combat.”

What this game doesn’t offer is a chance to share the adventures with hordes of strangers; Portal Knights can be played solo or as a group of up to four people. Customization also isn’t a big feature with characters, as there’s only the warrior, the mage, and the ranger to choose from. For more information, check out the trailer below and visit the official site.

nahenway Siphaed The combat looks superior, but all in all, yes it does feel like it’s similar to skysaga.

Yep, that’s going on my wishlist. I’ll wait for it to get out of early access though.

Looks a lot like Ort Online as well…. A game that the developers had a lot of promises that never came true. 2 years since the early access released an not even one major content update , even the fking crafting isnt even in the game or propper item icons.

“Another fucking voxel game.”

I wish the character models had a little more detail like the monsters seem to, but this looks like it could be quite fun. I’m hoping their EA is legit-planning-to-be-launched rather than we-got-your-dollas-suckas EA.

Siphaed I prefer the un-blocky vegetation of Portal Knights, but I do think they could have had more fun with the character models like Skysaga did. Nonetheless, I thought Skysaga was primarily an MMO? Portal Knights only has up to 4 player co-op I think.

If it is anything like SkySaga -which looks like it jacked the idea from-, then the worlds from which portals open to are open to anyone.  Players can end up joining the same world that other players are in.  And if you open the portal from your home island, anyone on your home island at the time can enter said portal and come join in on the adventure.

This looks like a complete rip-off of SkySaga with just a few tweaks here and there. The floaty characters in SS also come across as more playable than some chibi looking knights (because ‘monkeys’ and ‘lizards’).
