Tree of Savior previews class balance changes and class inspiration

Yes, very historical.

Be honest, did you think that Tree of Savior’s class names were just vague nouns (or collections of sounds) that sounded cool? Because if you did, you were wrong; a new article on the official site discusses the historical inspiration behind the game’s Rank 8 classes. Sure, some of them are pretty self-explanatory (a Lancer is someone using a lance, this was not a mystery), but now you can find out what a Murmillo or a Hackapell were based upon.

Of course, a historical basis alone won’t ensure that something is actually balanced, and the game is moving forward with another round of balance changes designed to make classes of all stripes more useful in combat. The good news is that almost all of these are buffs, whether they’re small ones to help the Corsair’s performance in solo combat or large ones to help the Cannoneer be more effective all around. Check out the full list of changes to see if your preferred class got some positive tweaks.
