Last week, Crate Entertainment announced that its post-apocalyptic ARPG Grim Dawn would be receiving a new expansion, Forgotten Gods, sometime this month, and now we’ve got an actual release date. The expansion, which will take players beyond the shattered remnants of the Erulan Empire and into unforgiving deserts where the eponymous forgotten god is sowing discord and mayhem, will be landing on March 27th at the affordable price of $15.99 US.
Forgotten Gods will pick up Grim Dawn’s story where it left off after Ashes of Malmouth, setting players on a new journey in a “massive story chapter” that will find our heroes battling alongside the Witch God cults to “vanquish the rising threat of a forgotten god.” It will also introduce new gameplay features, including the brand-new Shattered Realm game mode in which players will “face off against Carin’s foes in ever more challenging shards of an unstable reality” in search of “unique rewards and mountains of loot.”
Players will also be able to take on the new Oathkeeper mastery. The introduction of this divine-magic-wielding, shield-bashing class will encourage exciting new builds and bring Grim Dawn’s total number of possible class combinations to an impressive 36. You’ll only have to wait a little over two weeks to step into Forgotten Gods for yourself, but if you want to get a taste of what you can expect from the expansion when it goes live, you can check out the official trailer just below.
