Fortnite teases imminent Avengers: Endgame crossover event

This weekend, Marvel’s epic Infinity War saga will finally be drawing to a close with the release of Avengers: Endgame, and it looks like the momentous occasion will be commemorated in the gaming world by way of a crossover event in Epic Games’s ever-popular Fortnite: Battle Royale. The announcement comes via the Fortnite Twitter account, which earlier today tweeted a teaser image showing the game’s Bright Bomber character wielding Captain America’s iconic shield alongside the movie’s tagline, “Whatever it takes,” and the date April 25th, 2019.

Whether the image itself is indicative of the event’s content, perhaps hinting at the addition of Cap’s shield as an in-game weapon, or just a generic teaser remains to be seen. Given the success of the game’s Infinity War crossover event last year, which gave players the opportunity to play as and fight against the Mad Titan Thanos himself, we can probably expect something equally extravagant — and ridiculous — this time around. Whatever it is, players should keep an eye out for more details in the coming days before the event (presumably) goes live on the 25th.
