The folks at Nexon are kicking the summer off in style with the release of MapleStory 2’s massive Awakening Expansion update, which is live today. Billed as MS2’s biggest update since the game’s release, the Awakening Expansion update includes a brand-new class, a level cap increase, new raids and dungeons, and more. The star of the show is the new Striker class, a melee-focused pugilist who “uses a fearless combination of kicks and punches in close quarter combat brawling.” On top of that, players can now progress to the new level cap of 70, unlocking new skills and gear along the way. The update also introduces rank 2 job skills for every class, which “expand the robust experiences of all classes.”
[AL:MS2]And players will have to make the most of all their new abilities if they want to conquer the game’s new dungeons and raids. There are six new hard dungeons that will “give players the chance to earn the Frontier, Tidemaster, and Demonwing epic gear sets” as well as three new Chaos Raids where players can earn legendary gear including the Enigma, Behemoth, and Dark Vanguard sets. And to cap it all off, the update also opens up the new Eye of Lapenta zone, where players will find four new dungeons that the devs say are even more challenging than Chaos Raids. With the Eye of Lapenta, players also gain access to a new customizable skill system, which allows them to find Lapenshards that “introduce a new set of passive and active skills players can customize to unlock their full powers.”
The Awakening Expansion update is live right now, and until June 26th, players can receive a variety of valuable loot including a Striker Daily Wonder, a Canola Bonito ground mount, a Floating Lotus air mount, and more just for logging in.
