On its afternoon livestream today, Gamigo announced that it’s delaying the release of ArcheAge Unchained to October 15th. It was originally scheduled for September 30th. Unchained is a buy-to-play “legacy” version of the game that is committed to a clean experience free of pay-to-win.

Gamigo also reiterated during the stream that there will not be any labor potions and expansion scrolls for money (credits) – they’ll be available only for diligence coins.

The stream continues; we’ll update with more as it goes on.

Update
Just a few minutes after the stream announcement, Gamigo sent out a PR blast too. Shadows Revealed will also be put off that same length of time for both versions of the game.

Hamburg, September 20, 2019 – The gamigo group announces that the release date of the anticipated Online-MMORPG ArcheAge: Unchained has been moved to October 15th, 2019. The German publisher intends to prolong the Quality Assurance phase to ensure the in-game mechanics are fairly balanced and that new features, such as the ArchePass, are implemented properly. The decision is based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community, which had a strong influence on the development of ArcheAge: Unchained since its announcement.

According to the community, ArcheAge: Unchained is the online role-playing game many MMORPG fans have been waiting for. New and existing players of ArcheAge deserve the best possible experience from the day of release. gamigo will continue to improve the gameplay experience based on player feedback, to offer the best version of ArcheAge: Unchained. gamigo will also set up a preview server starting October 1st, which will give players access to a first look at the new content. Over the following two weeks, and in two waves, owners of the Founder Packages as well as the general public will have the chance to try out and extensively test the game before its release. Feedback of any kind is very much appreciated!

The launch of the “Shadows Revealed” update will also be postponed. With this update, the graphics in both versions (F2P and B2P) of ArcheAge will be significantly improved. gamigo will also extend the development period in order to optimize the new graphic settings, performance and features.

I went back to Archeage to play around and see if I was still interested and not just because of nostalgia. Turns out that yes, I still am. There’s just so many different things to do.

It’s a shame that the cash shop is so bad. In a few hours, the world chat seemed relatively dead. Made it to the first city for my faction and I was the only person there.

Hoping that this redo works. A company rolling back P2W mechanics and succeeding as a result would be a positive message for the industry as a whole.

If you don’t want to own a house does that put you at a huge disadvantage .

“People don’t like our business practices so let’s do a redo where we straddle the line instead of overtly crossing it like last time. We’ll double dip on these suckers.”

Honestly some worried about land rush. But if game launches with all areas open. There is way more than enough land. And i still doubt you own land forever.

I remember they said land won’t open a bit later after the game is launch. Can be a rush, ones it’s open if many people start to play the game again.

Land lock for the first 19 days, with 2 servers? Yeah, not going to happen. This will be the 4th launch and XLGames is still not learning anything nor are they letting the publisher get what they need to make it go smooth.

That multi boxing has got to go. Level the playing field for real.

Their solution for policing it is IP checking. Its pretty easy to setup virtual machines and run each one through a different proxy, thus eliminating the IP check.

Basically, there is no way for them to prevent multi boxing, unless their anti-cheat software is good enough to detect automation (and it never is).

Never is?
Sure, to 100% certainty. But identifying imitative (enough) behavior to trigger the observation/review buy a human should be a doddle, given the bulk data they can collect 24/7.

I agree there is no way to prevent multi-boxing, but they can slow it down if they hire GM to find them in-game by looking and players reporting.

I waited to pre-order as I was concerned over the alt situation and I’m glad I did, initially Gamigo said that they would allow 3 accounts per person but would only allow one account to be online at a time, however now they have walked back and in tonight’s stream confirmed that multi-boxing is allowed as long as players don’t use any automation software.

This being the case and knowing how alts effect getting land in P2W AA and character progression I’m even more sceptical about this incarnation now especially as its confirmed 3 accounts can be logged in at the same time during the land rush.
