It’s been one small step for video game crowdfunding, but one large step for Book of Travels. The “serene” tiny online RPG ultimately raked in $261,183 by the conclusion of its Kickstarter campaign over the weekend, thanks to contributions by 7,034 backers.
Not only does this mean that the project will enjoy additional funding to flesh out its game, but all of the crowdfunding campaign’s stretch goals were met during its run. These stretch goals include a traveller’s portal, an in-game journal, shared memories, pets, and even free copies of Might and Delight’s online Meadow game.
Might and Delight said the campaign was “transformational” and vowed to keep the communication coming on the MMO’s development as it progresses toward beta next year. It also gave a glimpse of the fully filled-out Travellers’ Meadow, an in-game field populated with as many night flowers as there were Kickstarter backers.
