A week after Lord of the Rings Online posted its roadmap for the remainder of 2020, the fantasy game put Update 26 on the test server. Mists of Wilderland, as the patch is called, will take players north into the Wells of Langflood zone and includes an across-the-board buff to Champion DPS, “less tedium” for several session play quests, and an additional chest for premium houses.
MMO blog Lena’s Biscuity Burrow logged on the test server yesterday to scout through the Wells of Langflood. One big surprise from her explorations was the discovery of a hidden Hobbit village called Lyndelby, which she speculates might be the home town of the upcoming River-hobbit race. Lina also posted a map of the new zone.
Standing Stone Games set the scene for this new storyline: “Through the ages of the world, many peoples have inhabited the Wilderland. In the latter days of the Third Age, Beornings, Dwarves, and the Great Eagles all consider themselves protectors over these northern lands. With conflict brewing in Gundabad these protectors now share the common goal of keeping the Wells of Langflood safe.”
Testers also were delighted to discover that the LOTRO store had a character race and gender change option, which is retailing for somewhere around $25:
In #LOTRO people keep on asking about the race change token, so here it is: in today's Bullroarer Preview this is the store description and cost (*nothing is official until they announce it tho!) pic.twitter.com/oZko73Rc0g
