WRUP: Lesser-used Street Fighter combo sequences

HaSOMETHINGken!

Please note, all commands assume you are facing right; reverse commands if you are facing left. All combos assume you are also playing in-person; otherwise, please ensure that the other person is on a voice chat. These combos should work in every version of the game wherein these characters are playable.

  • Ryu: Open with Up-Forward + Jab, then use Forward Kick in the air. Before you land, spray your opponent in the face with a water bottle, then use a Fierce Hadoken and say, “Nice.”
  • Cammy: Short Kick, Forward  + Short, Forward + Strong, “Your mother and I have been talking and we think it’s time for you to move out of the house,” Down-Forward + Roundhouse
  • Chun-Li: Jump in with a Roundhouse kick repeatedly until your opponent uses an air counter, then immediately press away, say a cuss word, say that one didn’t count and you deserve one free hit, then storm out of the room.
  • Sagat: Some direction and some button, then do the same thing immediately, over and over, and then if you lost it was the fault of network lag.
  • Zangief: Back + Jab, Jab, Forward, put down the controller, put your hand on the other player’s shoulder, and say “maybe we should kiss to break the tension.” If the other player reacts with revulsion, start crying. If the other player is into it, begin a passionate romance, then Forward + Roundhouse.
  • Ken: Answer What Are You Playing or something. I don’t know, who even plays Ken? Just do a dragon punch or a barrel roll.

Bonus question: What’s one thing you have around the house that you’d like to get rid of but can’t? (Keep in mind this doesn’t apply to, say, objects your spouse likes which you are less interested in.)

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Same as last week for me. I took a tiny break from Star Wars Galaxies Legends after my housing article (it took a ton of time!), so I’ve been relaxing farming and cooking in Lord of the Rings Online. So this weekend, I’ll probably do a bit of both. And I’m still very slowly working through my Itch.io games.

I’m team declutter over here, so there really isn’t much I haven’t already purged – except for the pile of things I’d really like to put on Craigslist and can’t during pandemic times. I know I’ve got a chair, a table, and three bins of those awful Vtech toys waiting in the basement.

Carlo Lacsina (@UltraMudkipEX), YouTube): If I have time this weekend it’ll be Black Desert Online. I’m trying to get caught up on all this season server madness. I really need that free earring for my main! It’s a good time to start now that most of the rush is over and the playerbase has split up more.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): I’ve had the itch to try out the seasonal servers of Black Desert. I’ve rolled a Guardian and while she hits like an absolute tank, I’m not sure I like her enough to continue. So I might try something else or pick up my normal Lahn again. There will also probably be lots of Mechwarrior 5; now that it can be modded, it’s a vastly superior experience.

We’re trying to slowly replace most of the things we own now with our own stuff since they were largely hand-me-downs. To that point, I would love to replace all of my kitchenware, but can’t because money.

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Got a game to review. Got a book to read. Got a house project to work on in Final Fantasy XIV. Soda Dungeon 2 is out. There are a couple other things. Point being that there’s stuff to do.

So my wife has an ancient chair from a discount furniture store that neither of us like. It’s ugly, it’s not all that comfortable, one of the cushions is awful, and so forth. We’d love to get rid of it or replace it… but the cats both love it, and that means that it kind of has to stay where it is despite that fact.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): Playing Crowfall to see how this new player experience goes. So far it’s… a new experience. Then it’s the same old routine of Guild Wars 2 festival and Valorant.

I think I’d get rid of some old toys that no one plays with anymore. Except for the random moments when those toys are super important. So they stay around.

Tyler Edwards (blog): Working through some recent Steam sale acquisitions. Currently playing an ARPG called Shadows: Awakening. It’s actually quite good so far. Kind of a diamond in the rough. The gimmick is you’re playing as a demon who has harvested various souls, and you can swap between each soul on the fly. It’s basically a party-based RPG where you can only have one member of the party on the field at any given time. Very unique.

Bonus question: If I thought hard enough, I could perhaps think of something, but nothing’s really coming to mind right now.

Patron Pierre: Another The Last of Us weekend for me, but a longer one than usual as I took my Monday off and Tuesday is our national holiday here in France. That’s a lot of time for gaming, yeah!! ^^ And just as I did last weekend, I’ll continue my The Last of Us NG+ and play The Last of Us Part II, probably not in equal shares, as I’ll let my whims and fancies guide me. If I have time and want to get away from the sometimes depressing post-apocalyptic world of TLOU, I’ll probably play some Final Fantasy XI but very casually.

Bonus question: If only I could get rid of my bed, and of the need to sleep 7 to 8 hours each and every night… it’s a lot of precious time lost. I think I read somewhere that over a lifetime, you sleep for years. I don’t remember exactly how many, but it’s too many.
And you MOP readers, what’s on your plate for this weekend? Some MMOs probably… I’m curious, as usual.

Every Saturday, join the Massively OP community and staff for What Are You Playing, our roundup of what MMORPGs and other games we’re hoping to play this weekend (with a bonus question or two for our amusement). Tell us what you’re up to! Go off-topic! And don’t forget to have fun!

Fun week. Been advancing all my jobs in FFXIV. There’s a reason they’re called jobs. It’s a lot of work. Happily running dungeons in FFXIV reminds me of how much I dislike WoW’s dungeons, their design and the dev attitude toward play and players they exemplify. FFXIV has so many things I really enjoy in MMOs and has just gotten better over the years.

Last week of Steam summer sale saw me spending freely on deeply discounted games I would likely not have touched otherwise, most of them being still in Early Access, which I try to stay away from. But a sale’s a sale and when nearly everything else I like is tagged “in your library” what’s a dedicated shopper to do?

A Legionary’s Life Been waiting for this to go on sale for awhile and really shouldn’t have waited. A sweet, concise, historical RPG that’s MUD-like in its playstyle. Also, I’d categorize this as rogue-light. You build up the quality of your Legionary by repeatedly dying in battle. Game play quite addictive.

Last Regiment Really did not see this one coming. Enjoyable turn-based strategy game with a strong campaign, good tutorial and easy to learn game play loop. Definitely worth it.

Gloomhaven Really excellent graphics. Based on the board game to which it is apparently quite true. Another turn-based strategy game, this one with cards. Just didn’t enjoy the play at all and refunded.

Firewatch Atmospheric mystery adventure. Very well done, really got me going in a few places and creeped me out.

I played a few more, which were generally mediocre or still deep in development and might improve. I debated refunding a few of these, but since the on-sale prices were so low, I decided to keep them in my library in case they should improve: Glorious Companions, Willy-Nilly Knight, Dead Monarchy, Gatewalkers.

I am really relieved that New World has been delayed nearly a year. My finger was hovering over the Add to Cart button and I know instinctively that would have been a mistake.

Checking my spam box repeatedly in hopes that Amplitude got my “me, me, me” vibe and will send me a beta invite to Humankind.

Cheers and stay safe.

Just some casual Path of Exile when I get the chance.

Really in gaming terms at least I am spinning my wheels until Ghost of Tsushima launches later in the week on PS4. Assuming life lets me I expect to sink a lot of time into that game.

Stay safe, be kind and enjoy your gaming.

Mostly been helping some friends get their start in Warhammer 40,000 this week beyond just grinding the last few things in FFXIV i need to do. Which has lead to a *lot* of drama today.
Yesterday GW was putting up the first limited edition box for 9th edition 40k. You get the rules, two armies and all the extras and this box was the lot and wont be made ever again.

It sold out in 14 minutes in the uk, 37 seconds in the us. Immediately followed by scalpers putting 100 copies or more on eBay for up to £1,700. This was a £125 box.

So yeah. People are *mildly* upset as the scalping problem with warhammer has reached incredible proportions which only pushes the consumers to the chinese recasters which only harms GW and leaves scalpers sitting on a bunch of stock they can barely shift.

Luckily i got one to split with a friend who wants those foul space marines but man what an absolute mess. Its like the old wrath of the lich king collectors edition debacle dialled up past 10 to 100.

I hung out with Martok and did a bit of Klingon stuff in STO earlier Will probably do another episode. Also, ended up getting backninto RIFT for a weekend. Level 23 rangery rogue that is a blast to play. Conan Exiles has me on an RP server, where I am working on a distillery of sorts and completing a tavern build.

Bonus: Boxes of gaming mags from the 90s to the early 2000s. I never look at them, but I cant get rid of their heavy asses. I still have collages and mosaics to do one day.

I did a terrible, horrible, no good thing.

I reinstalled WoW and resubbed to it. I blame a streamer that I follow who decided to get into it and is starting up a guild on Illidan at some point.

So my weekend has so far been wondering where the time is going as I play catch-up on my Horde main to see everything I missed since like October 2018. Might peel away some in order to sink some time into Dead By Daylight while its final days of its anniversary event are going on, but who knows. Right now I’m enjoying WoW again since I usually only get burned out when I hit the end game grind wall.

Bonus question: An old printer that’s currently just sitting in my bedroom to prop up an air filter.

We all do it, we all end up resubbing to WoW again before the end.

You never played USF4 online, did you?

AC Origins. I tried some of the earlier AC games, but they never stuck.

Read about how Origins started to change some of the game play from the previous ones -so I figured I would give it a shot.

Bonus question: My ID card for my place of employment.

Playing WoW and Diablo, as expected WoW eats most of my gaming time, not complaining here, also playing Submachine series again, it used to be flash games but now remade in a new engine, the games developed by a Polish artist and i’m a big fan of his work.

Bonus: from my name you can guess i like to keep my place simple and clean, but i live in house full of people who disagree on this, if i can get rid of things in the house i’ll take a break from everything to do just that for a week or two.

One thing? an old safe, used to be in my father’s room, took 3 of us to move it out and it needs at least 5 people to take it out of the house, now it sits in a corner for years.

Don’t know why, but when it gets hot, my PC gaming really slows down. I don’t have AC, so it’s probably better for my rig if I don’t push it. I’m pretty sure I’ve already fried one PC in the past playing hot.

More Albion this weekend. Tried playing it on my phone this week and it was actually doable for farming and crafting. I’ll be on vacation later this month, and will have wifi, so I should be able to get some Albion in. But my daughter’s working on a beach-themed D&D campaign for the week, so we’ll be busy with that.

Bonus: Our kitchen cabinets. Totally outdated. Our adult kids tried to spruce them up for us by painting them & putting new hardware on them, but they are really inefficient and need to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up.

I was living that no AC, hot ass rig life a few years ago for an equal number of years. It is the absolute worst. New place I ended up using a window unit just for the PC in the room. In a smaller room it can increase the temp 15 degrees at least

After I had a rig burn out on me, I became a fan-aholic. I get as many fans as the case will hold. I’ve also got a fan that blows on the case full-time. My latest box has tempered glass on two sides. Note, not plastic. Glass conducts heat very well, so provides a cooler atmosphere inside. More expensive, but worth it.

And the coolness of RGB lights shinning through.

Bonus Question: couple chairs need to go.

On the ARPG front, I really recommend the Diablo 2 mod to Grim Dawn, Reign of Terror. It’s the best of both games: D2’s zones, quests and classes with GD’s dual-classing, skills enhancements and so forth.

Other than that, nothing in the ARPG genre has caught my eye of late.
