While we’ve been busy keeping eyes on all the games as best as we can, developer Shiro Games has had its head down working away on Darksburg, the isometric online ARPG that sees players trying to survive in the titular town during a zombie outbreak — you’ll recall it was among the titles we included in a February 2019 spotlight. We cast our gaze to this one once again because it’s about to wrap up its early access and go into version 1.0.
After what is being touted as months of community feedback and refinement, Darksburg will offer up a recently added co-op mode called Outbreak as its primary mode of gameplay instead of the PvP mode that was in the works. Outbreak mode promises endless replayability thanks to procedurally generated levels, dynamic enemy spawns, and randomized loot while players can rank up their Survivor and earn items to mesh with skills, perks, and abilities as they go.
The full Darksburg experience will be available September 23rd on PC, Mac, and Linux for a meager $19.99. A new trailer is below for those who want to get a peek at what to expect.
