SMITE reworks Loki and adds Gummy Worm Medusa for Halloween

Halloween is a season of tricks and/or treats, so perhaps it’s that connection to trickery that prompts SMITE to kick out a rework of Loki in the latest update. He’s a god of trickery, you see. It fits.

“We focused on preserving the stealth Assassin feel his kit evoked, but removed many of the frustrations surrounding him,” reads the update post from the devs. “Enemies should feel more in control when fighting against a Loki, having options to counter his incoming damage with a larger window to react. Loki mains should however find an array of new abilities to use when it comes to jungling and teamfighting.”

Perhaps more thematically appropriate for Halloween is the addition of a variety of new skins including a Pumpkin Spice Discordia, a Vampiress Amaterasu, and a Gummy Worm Medusa, which is just as spectacular-looking as it sounds. The update has also introduced a variety of LGBT flag avatars in honor of LGBT History Month and has also brought back the classic Joust mode. There’s a variety of bug fixes and item adjustments made as well, naturally.

In other SMITE-related news, Hi-Rez has officially announced that Hi-Rez Expo 2021 and the esports world championships will be an all-digital affair, with the esports competitions taking place between January 4th and 10th, and the expo’s showcase broadcasting on January 7th, along with online panels and a digital cosplay contest.
