TERA Console will introduce cross-play between PS4 and Xbox and merge servers on November 19

Thursday, November 19th, is a pretty big day for TERA Console as the MMORPG will introduce cross-play features between PS4 and Xbox versions of the game. This feature will also introduce in-game friend and block systems that are removed from each platform’s friend and block lists yet still let players friend one another regardless of console platform. Furthermore, cross-play is a wholly optional feature, but those who opt out won’t see players who have opted in to cross-play, even if they’re on the same console.[AL:TERA]

As a result of the game’s cross-platform future, several servers will be merged based on region for NA, EU, and Asia territories. The process should be overall automated, but there will be some adjustments made for player characters or guilds that share a name, with preference going to those who have logged in the most or were created the earliest respectively. There are a number of other specific details that players should take heed of, so make sure to check the post for that information.

Speaking of server issues, PS4 players in NA and EU are going to get some indeterminate compensation for weekend server issues which were caused by a matching issue in Velik’s Hold. For the time being, the dungeon is being closed in order to stabilize the build, while compensation will be issued with the game’s next maintenance.
