The great thing about social media is that it can be a great medium for people to communicate in real-time and let everyone know what you’re thinking. The worst thing is… exactly that. But however bad it is when you accidentally say something that a bit more thought would have told you that it was better to leave unsaid, it gets even worse when it’s a well-paid professional spouting off in a way that does nothing but cause trouble for the brand and the studio as a whole.

I’ve been keeping an eye on Blizzard’s various developer Twitters quite a bit of late, for understandable reasons; the studio’s developers already had a bad habit of causing problems and picking fights on Twitter, and things have gotten worse rather than better. But I’ve heard more than enough stories of terrible developer behavior elsewhere to believe that’s a nadir. So what’s the dumbest thing you’ve seen an MMO developer do on social media?
