Elite Dangerous puts out a small Odyssey patch to fix on-foot ‘stuttering’ at outposts

To be clear, the latest patch applied to Elite Dangerous: Odyssey isn’t a fix for “stuttering” related to framerate drops; it’s a fix for a sudden dip in performance while at settlements. An erroneous navmesh algorithm that was trying to plot NPC courses around rocks that weren’t actually present in outposts was causing the issue. The navmesh has now been adjusted appropriately and players should no longer experience a hitch in performance as the game’s AI tries to think about navigating around non-existent boulders.

As for framerate problems, the post assures players that further optimizations are being worked on for Update 9, and the post also lists several known issues like crash to desktop problems, weird NPC behavior at combat zones, and players being attacked as if they entered a restricted area when they haven’t among other things. These issues are on top of individual bug reports and “legacy issues,” both of which are also being worked on.
