Look, what the heck do you want from me? Every week, I hear the same thing. “Eliot, do that thing where you make blood squirt out of your eyes.” “Eliot, do that thing where you dislocate your shoulder and make your arm swing around all crazy.” “Eliot, turn into a crab.” Do you not get it? I can’t do this stuff on command! All of these came from very specific situations! The blood squirting thing was when I absorbed the power of a horned lizard! It isn’t something I can just casually do! The arm thing was when that motorcycle hit me!
The crab, well, that was part of my battle against the evil Doctor Crabulon who hit me with his carcinification ray that turned me into Crablor, the Mightiest of Crabs, blessed with the proportional speed, strength, and agility of a very strong, fast, and nimble crab. In hindsight that ray gun was just generally a problem for Doctor Crabulon all across the board. I kept the gun but it’s in a safe deposit box and I forgot where I put the key. Let me know where it is in What Are You Playing. Then I can do that one on command.
Bonus question: Who are you closest to in your family, not counting your spouse if applicable?
Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Pokemon Go has a big catch-up Community Day, and I’ve got a 2016 player coming back with my group to give it a shot. Should be interesting! I also need to finish decorating my Animal Crossing island for the holidays.
For the bonus question, I’m probably closest to my brother. I’ve written about it before, but we fought a lot as kids, and some major drama in Asheron’s Call 2 forced us to really hash things out. We don’t always see eye to eye on things, but we at least respect each other enough to hear the other one out and know that it’s not an ego-pushing thing between us now.
Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): Welp, Albion Online got me… I subbed two toons and am back to my islands and arrows and carrots and quarterstaves, and I love how pretty the world is now. I’m also working on a new house deco build in Star Wars Galaxies Legends, but it’s a long way from being finished.
Discounting my kids and husband, well, that makes the size of my side of the family like three people right now. It’d be my mom.
Carlo Lacsina (@UltraMudkipEX, YouTube, Twitch): Guild Wars 2: Wintersday! I just had to talk about how happy this event makes me and with some gaming time on the horizon, you bet your patootie that I’ll be hopping around the winter wonderland, playing Toypocalypse, throwing snowballs at players and just having some fun there! Its not Christmas without a visit to Tyria for me!
Bonus Question: Closest to my brother since we both play games. I’ve know him since he was born and we’ve been through all the brotherly things, both good and bad. The fondest memory we have is that we used to play Quake 2 Co-op back in the day too, that was a ton of fun!
Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): With queues slowly slipping into sane levels, Final Fantasy XIV will likely be a feature this weekend as I continue to slide along in Endwalker. Past that, I’m not really sure what else. I’ve been searching for a game like Arma III that I can play without coordinating with a few dozen other people. Random whim, I know
My very best friend Britarnya (who I consider family) stands out, along with my other best friend/former stepbrother Ken. As for blood relations, I’m still pretty close with my brother, sister, and mom.
Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): It’s FFXIV time, naturally.
My brother and I have always been close. I wish we were closer, between geography and just general life experiences, but we’re still close and care about one another a lot. I’m also very close to my aunt.
Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I was planning on playing more New World since I haven’t had time to play much this past week. However the slow leveling curve is beginning to take it’s toll. I really want to get into some semi organized PvP there but the hurdle to get leveled is really crushing. One place I know I’ll be playing is in Wintersday in Guild Wars 2. Those festivals just get me hooked!
Bonus: I’m probably closest to my cousin. We don’t have as much in common anymore as adults but we remain close.
