WRUP: Astrid Cornwaker and the tortellini edition

Level 1-1: Amble bamble ham preamble. Walka-walka-walka-do, Fred Flinstone, horse with glue. Joopa joopa woopa do, hoopa woopa loo, matcha matcha horble farble angus dliddle dladdle. We didn’t start the fire.

Level 2-1: Double-jump a lot. No, more than that. Double your jump. Butt symphony! I said to double jump! Not single jump! Single jumps are for old people. They’re for old people who can’t handle the beauty and grace of a double jump. You jump and then you jump a second time. Get it? You jump in midair. Like a bird, but with jumps. Double-jump!

Level 2-2: womp womp

Level Eggplant: a whim away a whim away a whim away a whim away a whim away a whim awaya whim away a whim awaya whim awaya whim away a whim away a whim away

Level What Are You Playing: Honestly, I’d just give up at this point.

Bonus question: What’s the most memorable medical procedure you’ve had to endure?

Andrew Ross (@dengarsw): Gonna be doing some more Pokemon Go, Orna (getting close to my next class!), and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but I also got into the Nintendo Switch Sports trial test this weekend and I’m super looking forward to it!

For the bonus, I guess it would be a wisdom tooth issue, except that I can’t actually remember a lot of it since I practically had to beg for pain killers while they (very slowly) tried to figure out my situation. I learned the hard way that, in Japan, telling the dentist “I have tooth pain” is essentially how you get insurance to cover a teeth cleaning.

Andy McAdams: Probably Final Fantasy XIV and some more Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but we’ll see how the weekend shakes out.

Bonus Question: So I’m clinically hypermobile (all my joints extend beyond what they should) and I used to be able to flex and dislocate my shoulder. I was white-water rafting about a decade ago and dislocated getting out of the boat, tore a bunch of the ligaments and tendons and had to have surgery. I have a staple somewhere in shoulder now, and I had a six month recovery – the first two months of which I was in an arm sling and wasn’t able to lift more than a pound. Bonus though is that my surgeon said I would never have full range of motion back in my shoulder but because I actually did everything my PT said, I do! It still doesn’t work as well as the other shoulder, but at least it moves everywhere it’s supposed to.

Brianna Royce (@nbrianna, blog): I had been playing Lord of the Rings Online obsessively, and then real life smacked me hard this week, so I haven’t done much but stock my Star Wars Galaxies Legends vendors. Maybe I’ll be back in LOTRO this weekend.

A 40-hour labor. It’s fine, though. The kid was worth it.

Chris Neal (@wolfyseyes, blog): Lost Ark will continue to be a primary feature this weekend – I’m at level 45 now and inching ever closer to the infamous endgame that looms ahead – but I also will likely hop back in to Global Agenda since it’s return to Steam.

The most memorable medical procedure I’ve undergone was the one after I was in a car crash (pickup truck versus 18-wheeler; guess who won that bout), not so much for the procedure itself but for the injury. I was t-boned by the semi because I didn’t see a stop sign and the only injury I sustained was glass jammed into my elbow that didn’t require stitches and only the removal of said embedded glass. Needless to say, I am much more cautious about my speed!

Eliot Lefebvre (@Eliot_Lefebvre, blog): Probably a touch of the old-fashioned FFXIV along with a game or two for review purposes. I have a long weekend this time around, so I fully intend to enjoy it and pace myself for a while.

Honestly, the worst medical procedure I personally had was probably my root canal. I learned some new definitions for pain on that particular day. It was not fun.

Sam Kash (@thesamkash): I’m trying to play through some Lost Ark. The allure of PvP and the positive consensus from so many gamers has me intrigued. So far I’m not completely sold on it but I haven’t gotten to any PvP yet. I also beat Unsighted this past week so I’ll be looking for something new to play in my single player quest.

Bonus: I had several surgeries as a kid and I remember waking up during one of them. It’s mostly a blur but several doctors freaking out and jumping to hold be down because for some reason I tried to flail like crazy is something that sticks with you.
