DON'T MAKE ME RELIVE IT!

Look, you can feel however you want about World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. You can feel that it’s one of the most disappointing and limply handled expansions in the game’s history, or you can have positive feelings for some reason. But the one thing you cannot say about it is that it contained the most feature-light patch in the game’s history because that came back with Warlords of Draenor when the developers tried to convince people that having Twitter integration in the game was somehow definitely the same as introducing some actual content outside of grinding enemies in the open world for reputation.

That may not be your personal letdown moment, though. For one thing, you might not play WoW. The point is that every game has patches that add lots of new content and fun stuff to the game alongside patches that… uh… don’t. Today, we want to look back at the ones that decidedly didn’t, adding unnecessary features, not much content, poorly balanced systems, and other largely forgettable crap to the game. What “major” MMO patch was the biggest letdown for you?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
