It’s our sad duty today to inform you that Earl Boen passed away this week at the age of 81 after a battle with lung cancer. Now if you’re sitting there going, “Wait, who is Earl Boen?” then it helps to know that he’s one of those character actors that you’ve probably seen in many movies such as Terminator and Terminator 2.
He’s the guy in the middle there:
But it isn’t for his role in one of the most famous sci-fi movie franchises of all time that we bring you this story. No, it’s due to the fact that Boen was also the narrator for World of Warcraft. If you’ve played the game, he was the one who officially brought you into the game world with his well-known racial introductions.
As Wowhead reports, Boen also played Magtheridon in the Burning Crusade and Legion, Hekima the Wise in Cataclysm, and King Terenas Menethil II in Wrath of the Lich King.
Oh, and the literal voice of King Terenas Menethil, father of Arthas. Here, be reminded of how cool that dude sounded. https://t.co/as16hsEyyB
