Hope you didn’t have your heart set on DC Universe Online’s Episode 45: Shock to the System launching today, fam, and heaven forfend you took off work for it because Daybreak announced late last night that it is delaying it another week.

“Heads up, heroes! #Episode45: #ShockToTheSystem is now planned to launch April 20, 2023. Reset those clocks for next week!” the studio tweeted. “We believe this additional week will help us deliver the best experience possible. Thank you for your patience with the date change!”

It looks as if it was a relatively late decision, as the company had confirmed the earlier date just a few hours beforehand, but there’s no detailed explanation of what went wrong.

Meanwhile, take comfort in the knowledge that Daybreak is planning to release character names on inactive accounts (defined as characters on accounts that haven’t logged in within the past year). Players have one month to log in and refresh their accounts to keep their names, otherwise those old toons will be renamed and their original names freed up for the free-for-all.
