The Daily Grind: Why did you delete the last MMO character you deleted?

Every deleted MMO character has a story. Sometimes the concept or name sucked. Sometimes you decided on a different race or faction. Sometimes you just want a fresh start, or you needed the character slot for something else, or your roleplaying plot demanded it, or the character was involved in painful guild drama, or you decided the class just wasn’t for you after all.

And sometimes you’re playing hardcore mode and you have to delete when you die because you promised you would. Ouch.

The last character I deleted was actually a Lord of the Rings Online Rune-keeper. I keep rolling RKs trying to make them work, but then they get to level 15 or so and I get bored. The last one stood as my cosmetics mule for years, but I decided to get rid of her a few weeks back and try again with a fresh RK. I’m not hopeful!

Don’t think hard about this one. Tell me about the last MMO characters you deleted. Why did you do it? What’s the story?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
