MassivelyOP’s 2023 Golden Yachties: Best Worst MMO Launch Announcement

Welcome back to MassivelyOP’s not-so-serious end-of-the-year awards as we present our award for Best Worst MMO Launch Announcement. Yes, it’s the Golden Yachties series, named in honor of those bright sparks absolutely convinced that video game blogging is a lucrative career and we’re all sailing ’round the world on ships of gold. (Stay in school, kids.)

And the winner is…

NOIA ONLINE

Back in April, the solo dev on Noia Online gave an adorably curt announcement for the open alpha launch of his MMOs, simply telling Discord fans, “Game’s up.” No hype, no nonsense. The game is actually cute, so we’re not sorry to be re-highlighting it here. Frankly, more MMOs could stand to be as straightforward and non-bullshitty as this.
