Chrono Odyssey continues to be in a holding pattern of teases and secrecy

One of the most intriguing cross-platform MMORPGs heading our way is Chrono Odyssey, an Unreal Engine 5 game from South Korea that vows to be a true “next generation” experience.

We started to get really excited for this title when the full announcement and gameplay trailer was revealed last May, but since then, studio Npixel hasn’t talked much about the development, testing, or release window for the MMO. So what’s going on?

Well, as we reported back in June, the studio doesn’t seem to be in an all-fire hurry to tell us much of anything. Instead, Npixel comes out of the shadows a couple times a month to post a short video or screenshot of a creature or locale from Chrono Odyssey on its Twitter feed. We’ve seen graveyards, a rotting marsh, an industrial city, a saint named Gaiana, a void dragon, a mondo destruction beast, and Death himself. Unfortunately, the studio hasn’t piped up with any details about how the development is going, leaving would-be players in the dark.

So for now, Chrono Odyssey continues to be in a holding pattern — but here’s hoping that the new year will bring some exciting news about this fantasy MMO to our waiting eyes and ears.
