Whatever.

Even though the swashbuckling era of Skull & Bones is finally among us after numerous delays doesn’t mean that it’s smooth sailing for Ubisoft’s pirate simulator. This so-called “AAAA” game is receiving so-so reviews from critics and even worse word-of-mouth user scores on Metacritic.

To help boost Skull & Bones’ profile — and give you an indication if this premium-priced title is worth your money — Ubisoft released a free trial on PC and consoles that allows anyone to enjoy up to eight hours of “unrestricted gameplay.” Any progression made during these eight hours is carried over to the full game once a purchase is made.

Also, if you’re a soundtrack fan, Skull & Bones score, composed by Tom Holkenborg, is available on multiple streaming platforms.
