Genshin Impact brings a new character and potion shop management in March 13 update

The spring season brings a lot of things – flowers, rain, allergies for some folks – but we’re not sure managing an alchemical potion shop is one of the usual arrivals. Yet that’s just what’s coming to Genshin Impact when it releases Update 4.5: Blades Weaving Betwixt Brocade on Wednesday, March 13th, along with a few other features.

Running the potion shop is the tentpole event for the forthcoming update, which will see players link up with Jean, Lisa, and the Knights of Favonius (you all remember those folks, right?) to manage every aspect of the burgeoning business, including cultivating ingredients, concocting potions, and selling them to customers. As profits grow, the shop can be expanded by purchasing more operational facilities and exquisite potion bottles to increase the number of potions that can be sold, while additional rewards like a special four-star polearm can also be earned.

Another major piece of the update is the addition of Chiori, the famous Inazuma fashion designer who also happens to be a five-star Geo sword wielder capable of sending her robot assistant into combat. As is custom with GI’s updates, Chiori will be part of the patch’s first half gacha banner alongside Arataki Itto, while the second half reruns Neuvillette and Kaedehara Kazuha. Players can also expect a new gacha run with five-star versions of Albedo, Eula, Mona, Klee, Diluc, and Jean up for grabs.

Other features in Update 4.5 include additional tutorials for upgrading gear, two more new events involving firing cannons and playing with cats, and some new character quests featuring Chiori. The whole fashionable, potion-making shebang can be previewed in the video below.
