When the Kickstarted Book of Travels first released, it was marketed as a micro-MMO that skewed hard away from the typical DIKUMUD combat format. Yet the game had a semblance of a fighting system, and according to all reports, it was never great.
Studio Might and Delight agreed, which is why it is testing a “complete overhaul of the system” right now and should be putting it into the game “very soon.”
In a new blog post, Might and Delight explains how it’s improved Book of Travels’ combat, including stat visuals, longer defensive skill durations, easier targeting, a rework of the health system, and more feedback from fighting.
“Our goal is to create a new system that is scalable and where we can easily introduce new types of enemies, weapons, skills, and add new multiplayer features,” the studio said last December.
