Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff puts out a quality-of-life update along with a free demo

Quality-of-life is the name of the game for the adorably boxy multiplayer RPG Swords ‘n Magic and Stuff. The game’s latest update is full of new things that are meant to ease existing in the game’s colorful little world, including a new wardrobe feature, inventory improvements, the ability to create endless custom loadouts (though pre-existing loadouts had to be wiped out to make it happen), and ways to create masterwork augment stones.

These updates land alongside a newly launched free demo that grants players full run of the Castaway Island tutorial zone, which provides roughly an hour of gameplay. Those who want to buy in after they’ve played through the demo can get the game at a 50% discount until May 6th, and multiplayer will be allowed between demo players but not with regular players. Additionally, those who want to copy their character into the full game can do so, though Kindred Games apparently doesn’t recommend doing so; instructions on how to do that are in the game’s official Discord.
