Tower of Fantasy adds a new virtual zone, new character, and new story content in latest update

Technically speaking, adding a new zone in an MMO and multiplayer title is the same thing as adding a virtual zone, but the Gesthos Network World that’s the centerpiece for the new patch in Tower of Fantasy is canonically a virtual world, as in it doesn’t actually exist within the game’s fiction. Now stop splitting hairs, strawman.

As we noted previously, this new zone is a virtual representation of what the area looked like before the apocalypse arrived to the game world. It’s also linked to the RPG’s wider narrative related to the Gesthos network outage and the consciousness of Shirli. If you know, you know; if you don’t, don’t think too hard about it.

Another headline act of the update is a new character and weapon combo in the form of Roslyn, a simulacrum who uses her anchor-like weapon Calm Waters like a giant flail and appears to have an aversion to wearing pants. Again, don’t think too hard about it; it’s anime.

As for the rest of the update’s content, that includes new frontier clash and void abyss seasons, a new floor in the Bygone Phantasm Boundless Realm instance, a new feature known as Supercomputing Evolution (whatever the heck that is), and a frankly absurd list of new and returning events on top of another fanart contest and Twitch drops.
