LOTRO’s new progression servers grapple with wraith frequency and character rollbacks

It’s been a wild and wooly first week for Lord of the Rings Online’s latest progression servers, NA’s Angmar and EU’s Mordor, and while the population is strong and SSG reports that the shards are “performing quite well,” that doesn’t mean there are some issues that need addressing.

One of these involves individual character rollbacks, which this writer personally experienced and others reported as well. SSG said that it’s looking into the data from this past weekend to see what’s happening.

Another issue is the frequency of the default shadow wraiths, as they are wrecking havoc among a lowbie population that often cannot fight back against these mobs. The studio announced this week that it’s reducing the frequency of these wraiths appearing, although it has yet to decide whether or not to forbid them from showing up in solo instances.
