Back in July, Kotaku penned a piece on Kien, a game originally announced for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance… in 2002. Apparently, the game was finished back then, but no publisher would take it on. A full 22 years later, one of the original devs returned to revamp the game and get it out on the GBA (though it also works for in an emulator form in case you didn’t save yours).
Kien is not an MMO, obviously, but you have to love this story… even as you might think 22 years is too long to wait. I tend to get bored after three or four years of covering an MMO, and I’m a pretty patient person when it comes to games. And some of you have been waiting over 10 for some MMOs that shall remain nameless in this post, ahem.
Let’s put a number on it. How long are you willing to wait for an MMORPG from announcement to launch?
